About the Adventure

Sarah was born in Los Angeles to a banker and a special education teacher. After a friend convinced her to sign up for a theatre camp the summer after sixth grade, she fell in love with performing and knew it was what she wanted to do with her life. Years and years of community theatre followed, as did countless hours singing Les Miserables, Chess and Into the Woods in her bedroom. When Sarah moved to New York City with her family at the age of 16, she immediately got an agent and began pursuing her dream of being on Broadway. She honed her craft with intensive training: voice lessons with the legendary Marni Nixon (the iconic singer who dubbed songs for Natalie Wood in West Side Story, Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady and Deborah Kerr in The King and I), acting with the Moscow Art Theatre, and dancing at Broadway Dance Center - all while balancing a demanding high school schedule.

Her professional career took off soon after, with Sarah making her film debut in Ang Lee’s critically acclaimed film, The Ice Storm. This led to more opportunities on television and in Broadway readings and workshops. When the time came for college, Sarah chose to stay in New York City, enrolling at Barnard College, where she could continue auditioning and building her career and also pursue her academic goals. While a sophomore at Barnard, she auditioned for the FOX television spin-off of the popular film Cruel Intentions. She was flown out to Los Angeles for a screen test and landed one of the starring roles. With the blessing of her parents, she took a leave of absence from college, packed her belongings and moved to Los Angeles at just 19.

Following her time on Cruel Intentions, Sarah enjoyed a steady career in television, with Series Regular roles on Angel and Seventh Heaven, as well as recurring roles on Boston Public, Line of Fire and Soul Man. She also guest starred on countless television series. On the film front, she appeared in Taking Chance opposite Kevin Bacon and Brooklyn’s Finest opposite Richard Gere, both of which competed at Sundance Film Festival. In the Fall of 2009, Sarah received an unexpected offer from renowned Bollywood director Prakash Jha to star opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Rajneeti. A longtime fan of Bollywood cinema, Sarah eagerly accepted, moved to India and had the adventure of a lifetime. The film became both a critical and commercial success, catapulting Sarah to household-name status in India.

After spending over a year living and traveling between India and the U.S., Sarah chose to step back from acting to focus on starting a family. She gave birth to two beautiful children, Lillian in 2014 and Elias in 2017, and spent several years at home with them – an opportunity for which she is extremely grateful. Though the pandemic delayed her return to acting, it gave her space to reflect and reassess her career. In 2021, Sarah decided to move her young family back to New York City, the place that had always inspired her most. There she could pursue her passion for theatre, film and television in a city that felt like home. She started training again, studying voice, acting and dance. She found invaluable mentorship in Broadway star, Caissie Levy, who became both a teacher and friend, guiding her in musical theatre. Sarah also connected with Karen Kolhaas, a founding member of Atlantic Theatre Company, and has continued to study with her consistently.

After a ten-year hiatus from acting, Sarah’s hard work and dedication paid off when, in the past year, she booked a recurring role on Your Friends and Neighbors for Apple TV+and a guest starring role on IT: Welcome to Derry for HBO Originals. In addition to her acting, she regularly performs at Don’t Tell Mama in the theatre district, where she showcases her singing talent. Her return to the stage and screen marks an exciting next chapter in her career. Outside of her professional life, Sarah is an avid traveler and enjoys exploring the world with her family. Recent adventures have taken them to Austria, Costa Rica and Newfoundland.
